How to integrate SAS Flex with Google Maps

On occasion, operators will field calls from customers who are lost trying to locate your business. And for industries such as HVAC and Plumbing, you may find yourself having to contact people just to let them know that you are not able to provide service in their area. Integrating Google Maps with the Google Maps app in the SAS Flex portal is a great way to give your callers on-the-go directions, and to ensure that potential customers are located in your area. Follow the instructions below to configure the app!

In this article we'll discuss:

Configure the Google Maps App in SAS Flex

1
Within SAS Flex, click the Integrations icon from the left navigation panel.

2
Then, click  Install under the Google Maps app icon.

3
On the app screen, click the  Add configuration button as shown below.

4
Under the General tab, there are some fields you will need to fill out, outlined below.
  • Name: Type in the name of your business or location.
  • Address: Type in the address of your business, or the address where your customers would visit. Based on what you type, Google Maps will populate options for you.

Use the toggle to activate your Service Area. Then, you'll need to choose between the following options:

  • Radius: If you select Radius, you will also need to choose (in miles) how far your service area is.

  • Polygon: If you select Polygon, a polygon will appear on the map to your right. Zoom in on the map for a closer look at the area. Click on the polygon dots and drag in or out to make it smaller or larger. Then, click and drag to move the polygon over your respective service area.

  • City: If you select City, dropdown lists will appear that allow you to choose a state and specific cities. Check off as many cities as you need, and click Apply.

Click  Save.

How to configure optional settings

1
Under the Contact Details tab, you can fill in some information about your business, including your business phone number, email, website, and local landmarks that agents can provide to callers trying to find your business.

2
Under the Business Hours tab, you can select your business hours, which allow operators to let your callers know if you're open or not. If you haven't yet added any business hours, check out this tutorial for instructions.

3
Under the Logo tab, you can add your business's logo. In order to do this, you must upload files first.

4
Under the Gallery tab, you can upload additional photos of your business that may help operators further assist your callers. For example, you could include your weekly ad or pictures of commonly ordered products.

5
Once you've configured all necessary settings, click Save.

How to integrate the Google Maps app into your script

Once your app is configured, we'll need to integrate it into your script.

1
In the  Address (Service Area) script block of your choosing, go to the Options tab.

2
Then, from the  Integration dropdown, select your configuration.

3
When you are finished, click Save

If you were simply editing a script block that was already added to a script, you’re all set! If not, you’ll need to create the rest of your script blocks (if applicable), your script sections, and your script. Check out these articles for instructions:

Adding Google Maps to the Location, phone & hours Option

1
From your SAS Flex script workflow, click the Gear icon to expand the  Options menu. Then choose Business Profile.

2
Use the toggle to activate the business profile and choose from the drop down your Google Maps configuration. Then click Save.

3
Once added, the Location, Phone & Hours option will appear on the side panel during a live call.

4
Agents will then be able to enter in the caller's address to provide directions, view your business hours, website, and any other pertinent information you've configured within the Google Maps app.
